How To Make 50,000g Every Day In WoW

Introduction

I’m going to reveal how I mindlessly make 25k-55k every single day. I do this without grinding mobs. I do this without farming herbs or ore. And I do it all without botting, hacking, stealing, or anything of that matter.

Oh… and did I mention I do this while only spending a few hours doing it? I’ve use this strategy on many servers, and even against some of the best “gold making” competition in the world (if there is such a thing?). That means you’ll be able to pick up these strategies and use them because they’re tested and proven in real life situations.

Who Are You Dude?

My name’s Jordan and I’ve played World of Warcraft since the beginning of time (or so it feels like). I started to realize how important and seemingly difficult it was to collect gold in WoW shortly after I started playing.

I started to research different strategies for making gold and realized that if I could start making enough gold I could sell it to certain companies or other players. I made a decent amount of money selling the currency to other players – but then Blizzard started cracking down on the sales of virtual goods. I completely stopped selling gold, and won’t ever do it again. So don’t ask! =)

My addiction for making gold never stopped. I continued to master the economy and even shared my strategies with players just like you who wanted to learn how to make more gold. I’ve had millions of people read my blog, and thousands of gamers purchase my gold guides.

So what you’re about to read is from a well-seasoned expert.

Let’s jump and in and get started with…

What Not To Do? (If you wanna make gold fast)

Unlike what most free guides across the web will teach, you DON’T want to farm for gold, follow mining or herb routes, run dungeons for gold, use some exploit or hidden farming tactic…There’s a few reasons why:

  1. Once a farming location or route gets popularity… more players start doing it and that competition decreases your gold income.
  2. At the same time you gain more competition, those same people will be trying to sell those materials, so you’ll have more sellers in the auction house, causing the price to drop.
  3. If by chance there is a “great” farming spot… Blizzard will nerf it as it gains popularity. This happens ALL the time. They want farming spots to be regulated.
  4. When you’re farming you can’t do ANYTHING else. Not only is my system fast, but you can do it while you’re waiting for dungeon or battleground queue’s to pop, waiting for raids to form, or even while waiting for boss pulls!
  5. There’s no way to match the gold per hour. I spend just 1-2 hours every day. So that means that roughly I’m making between 12.5k and 25k per hour (and on some days higher). Show me a farming spot that can do that!

My Daily Routine

Let’s go through an overview of my daily routine. We’ll start here because I want to show you how easy this system is once you have it set up and going. Then we’ll jump in and show you step by step how to set it up.

I log in each day and immediately go and collect my gold and expired auctions from my mailbox. I then re-craft all the items I sold (using TradeSkillMaster – an addon that helps manage my professions and auction listings - so it’s mindless to track). And then I go and list all my items on the auction house.

As soon as I’m done listing the items I scan the Auction House and buy up all the materials that are at my buying price or lower. I do it in this order because making sales is the MOST important thing you can do. So I’d rather list all my auctions quickly, and then start buying. I’ll usually start making sales while I purchase materials, which is pretty cool.

Then for the rest of the day I’ll pop in and cancel my auctions (in case they are under cut) relist them, and check on materials to see if there’s any more at my buying price. This part is optional. You don’t have to sit around your computer hawking the Auction House like most people lead you to believe.

If I need to do any additional crafting or buying, I do this while I’m waiting for queue’s to pop, groups to fill, or other times where you just have to wait around. If I don’t have any crafting to do, I’ll make sure my auctions aren’t under cut.

It’s that simple.

The System

Here’s how you can make 25,000g-55,000g every day

I make my gold every single day from mixing the Auction House with crafting professions. Because of the way the AH works and coupling it with a few add-ons, while using my strategy, it gives me the ability to buy materials at a cheap price, craft them into sellable items and resell them at a higher price.

These items get sold at a much higher price giving me enough profits to rinse and repeat. So this allows me to turn a few clicks into thousands of gold. Because of that I’m able to build a system that leverages the auction house to quickly put gold in my bank.

Here’s a very quick example:

Embersilk Bag’s made by tailors with 15 Bolts of Embersilk and 15 Hypnotic dust.

I purchase Embersilk Cloth at or below 2g each. It takes 5 cloth to make a bolt. So that’s 10g per bolt. Or 150g for each bag (so far). I purchase Hypnotic Dust for 10g each. That brings the bag total maximum price of 300g to craft. I resell these bags for 375g-400g.

I sell about a dozen of these every day. Giving me about 1,000g in profits every day. (On average, and including auction house fees!)

This is just ONE item that I craft. There’s many more with this profession alone.

Experiment

Here’s another example from the same profession. I want you to do this one with me!

Follow along and try it out in game or on your server.

Test Item: Netherweave Bag – 16 Slot bag. Made by 4 Bolts of Netherweave and 1 Rune Thread.

Go ahead and check on your server to see how much Netherweave Bag’s sell for.

On my server they are selling between 26g and 30g. Not bad.

Now let’s check to see what we can get materials for…

So as we can see above there’s a good amount of cloth selling between 55s and 90s.

Let’s do the quick math: It takes 20 cloth to make a bag. So at the maximum if we were to pay 90s/cloth the bags would cost us: (20 x .90) = 18g. Plus 35s for the rune thread. That’s a total of 18.35g.

So if we’re selling them for 26 and making them for 18.35g, that gives us a profit of about 8g. Kinda lame…

That means we set our material price lower.

If we set our material price at 0.75g, we still pick up a bulk of the cloth on the Auction House and now we’re making a minimum about 11g per bag. That’s still doesn't sound like a lot. Does it?

But lucky for you… I know a little secret. These bags sell so fast, that I'm always buying cloth to make more. I literally can’t keep them in stock. Also, I NEVER undercut with my bags. Since they are in such high demand they are almost all guaranteed to sell as long as I don’t place them for an outrageous price.

I usually pop mine on the auction house for about 29g-33g each. And they continue to fly off the shelf.

I’ve literally sold thousands of these:

I delete my data every 30 days, because it slows my auctioning down. So that shows you how quickly they sell.

So if my average sale value is 29g61s.. and my material price is 15g. I’m making an average of 14g per sale. I’ve sold 1467, giving me a profit of 22,005 in just 30 days.
That’s 733g a day from cheap little bags. Not bad right?

Keep in mind these are just TWO crafts on one profession. There’s a ton of gear, item enhancements, and even more bags you can sell with tailoring. Along with other profession’s you can pick up.

You’ve now got a basic idea of “what” I do. Let’s jump into what I do differently then other players that makes my system successful. Then we’ll go over the entire process step-by-step so you can put it to use with easy action steps.

What I Do Differently

Most people making gold don’t maximize their profits. Every crafting profession has “hidden” crafts that will bring in thousands of gold that players aren’t utilizing.

As an example: I craft 101 enchants. Only 21 of which are from the MoP expansion.

The MoP enchants definitely sell at a higher volume. But I get insane profit margins on the others because there’s less competition.

This also means that there’s less competition buying the materials. Which means you can snag up cheap materials and crank up the profits even higher.

If you want to get an updated and complete list of every item you should craft for every profession, make sure you check out this guide.

Even your competition playing the AH (the “so-called” experts) won’t be doing this.

You’ll be making secret profits that you’re competition doesn’t even know about.

Buying Materials

When you set your buying price you’ll want to buy ALL the materials you can buy under that price. Even if you start getting an excess of materials that you have to store somewhere. This does three things:

You’ll be controlling the price and making it harder for your competition to buy cheap materials to craft items.
It will make it look like there’s even less profits to be made, so it prevents competition from starting up.
You’ll always be able to craft and restock your items without the fear of running out.

Running out of materials happens very often. Prices fluctuate on the Auction House quite often, and there will be times when no one is listing the material you need. So it’s good to buy up every single auction you can if you can afford to do it.

Some of my stockpiled cloth

Here’s the cool thing about stashing all these items away. When there’s a drought on the AH, your competitors can’t buy up any materials either. If they can’t buy materials, they can’t craft and list auctions. With less competition that means you can push your prices up for even more profits. Cool right?

Why Don’t You Just Farm Your Materials?

...then you’ll make 100% profits?

We’re all about speed. I want to make the quickest amount of gold in the quickest ways possible. If I could find farming locations that could get me 5k-15k gph (gold per hour) I would most certainly farm those spots. But they don’t exist.

Sure it costs gold to buy materials… but if you follow my system every time you buy a material you’ll be buying it at a margin where you’ll make a profit. So with just a few clicks you’ll be making gold. Instead of killing mobs endlessly trying to collect gold.

Which way do you think is faster?

I do enjoy farming from time to time. It can be zenful. But I never use it as a strategy for making gold.

Q: Yeah but... What about Spirits of Harmony?!

A: Fair question! With a little bit of creativity you can even get Spirit of Harmony’s without farming for them. You can see the exact method I follow for doing this in this guide.

The Action Steps

Step 1: Get A Profession Of Choice And A Nest Egg

You’re going to need at least one crafting profession and some start-up gold. The amount of gold really depends on your preference. You can either start small with a few 500g-1000g or you can save up a few thousand so you can get aggressive quickly.

If you don’t have any gold at all you’ll either have to farm for your initial amount of gold or you can follow a few strategies in Warcraft Riches 2.0 that can make between 6,000g and 15,500g per hour without farming. Which will get you started quickly.

There’s actually a really fun strategy in this guide which is called “Fedexing” that will get you started really quick.

If not you can always pick the farming destination of your choice and collect some gold.

Choosing A Profession: Every profession is profitable. Some professions take a lot of gold to get started and some have a lot of competition. So there are risks and rewards to every profession you choose.

Don’t be fooled though, every profession can bring in thousands of gold every single day. Pick a crafting profession you find interesting and get it leveled up.

It’s important to start with just ONE profession.

Remember: most players make the mistake of not maximizing their profits or efficiency with one profession. Stick with one profession and completely maximize it before adding another profession.

You have to start by getting a list of items that players are actively buying on the Auction House and then a list of those materials you need to craft them.

This one is pretty difficult if you’re just starting out. The long way to do this is to go through your profession listing on WoWhead. Example

Sort the recipes from highest to lowest and then go through each item and see if you’d find them useful.

If you’re using a profession that has consumables you’re in luck! You can use WoWPopular. This shows all of the popular enchants, glyphs, gear and gems on players. So the more popular the item is the more likely it is to sell.

Both of these methods aren’t foolproof.

Like I said before, there’s a lot of items that sell consistently but aren’t completely obvious. Some items sell for very abstract reasons.

There’s two ways to go about doing this:

You can research every item and then ultimately test it by purchasing the recipe
and materials, crafting a few and throwing them up on the auction house. Then
optimizing it for profits by adjusting your material prices and your sell price.

You can definitely do this. It just takes a bit of elbow grease and research. I did it
myself it took hours of research and lots of wasted gold trying new things.

Or you can take quick route. Take advantage the thorough research done and get a full list
of craftable items for every profession inside Warcraft Riches 2.0. It’s also updated
constantly, so you know you’ll have a complete and profitable list.

Either way... Once you have a list of items then you test and see if you can craft
them profitably just like we did together with the Netherweave Bag.

Step 3: Set Up TradeSkillMaster

TradeSkillMaster is a very powerful addon that will help you keep track of your item inventory, set prices, and list them on the auction house easily. It’s very robust and can be very daunting to set up. There’s a ton of free guides all over the web that help you set it up and it’s also covered in this premium guide.

Once you have it set up you can add the items you plan to craft and sell.

Just like we covered before you should start with only a few items and slowly build up your stock with more items while you build on your success.

This makes setting up TradeSkillMaster a less daunting process and it also lets you reinvest the gold you make into buying more materials and expanding into more competition.

Step 4: Begin Your Daily Cycles

You’re all set up! Now you get to start your daily cycles of buying materials, crafting your items and listing the items on the AH.

Once you get a few items down you’ll want to look for additional ways to get materials.

For instance if you’re an enchanter, can you purchase items to disenchant cheaply instead of buying the materials directly? Can you purchase cheaper materials and combine them or break them down into the material you need?

If you’re a blacksmith can you buy ore and smelt it cheaper (or better yet – have someone else smelt it for a few gold to save even more time!) Can an alchemist transmute the materials you need?

As you look around for more ways to get cheaper materials your profits will soar.

After that you just add more items, more professions and continue collecting your gold every day!

If you’ve stuck through it this far, you’re already FAR beyond most of your competition that you’ll face on the Auction House. But the most important thing is that you get started right now! Follow the Action steps and jump in.

And if you want to take some big short-cuts make sure you check out this premium
guide. As I mentioned before it’ll give you a ton of shortcuts that aren’t available to the public:

Hidden / Secret Addon Edit For Arenas - World of Warcraft (Get ANY Stats)

Go to Oqueue Download

Oqueue is an addon that people have been using to get into awesome premades and RBGs for honor and arena points.

NOTE for RBGs : Someone might notice if you change your MMR for an RBG. Do so at your own risk because it shows up on the scoreboard (not in oqueue though). Changing your
MMR in CTA and regular BGs won't be detectable, however.

The problem is that the addon is built upon trust and it's all client-side, so I've added a nice little fix to the current 1.0.8 Oqueue LUA so that you'll be able to set whatever resil, pvp power,
MMR and item level you have so you can join groups that have settings that are higher than YOUR current MMR, resil, pvp power or item level!

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Get the 1.0.8 version of Oqueue from their website and follow their instructions.
  2. Drop this updated Oqueue.lua into your Oqueue folder and replace the official addon file with this attachment Oqueue LUA edit
  3. Open this Oqueue.lua into a text editor and change the values there to whatever you want

CODE (Change these stats to whatever value in the .lua file)

resil_pwnt = 5000; -- set your resil mmr_pwnt = 1200; -- set your mmr pvpp_pwnt = 8000; -- set your pvp power ilvl_pwnt = 460; -- set your ilvl

Yes that's right. You can now join that 2200 RBG on oqueue but if they are not STUPID they will check your gear and kick you out and ban you from using oqueue if you don't appear to fit the mold of the player they are looking for.

No this is just to get you into a group so you can gear up. If you've got good gear and your
MMR is like 1200 you can totally set it to 1900 if you want and go play with them, but you will be awarded a LOT of points after each game, so the group will figure it out and they might complain. It's possible (but very unlikely) you could get banned from the addon... so use with care!!! And don't be a baddie :P

My advice is to join low
MMR groups and also other good groups who won't check you through an inspection of your gear.

So if you're all pve gear they will tell you to put on your pvp gear. If you've got contender gear and you put you have 9000 resil someone is gonna figure it out and ban you.

Be smart. Just use this to get into those groups that you KNOW you can perform with.

Oqueue LUA edit

FAQ

Question:
Will I get banned from Blizzard for using this exploit?

Answer:
This is an exploit of an addon, so it is very unlikely that Blizzard would action your account for modifying the addon. Blizzard has spoken out against oqueue publicly and will likely break the addon in the future anyway, so it is very possible they would support our exploiting oqueue.

Also, check out this awesome addon by Dynasty, an AWESOME gold making addon which gives you the best of everything (Personally I make about 50k gold a day from this, with about 5 hours work). It costs a small one-time fee but I guarantee you won't look back!

Secret Method Used By Pros To Level To 90 In Just Days!

I enjoy playing World of Warcraft as much as anyone, but these days my time is limited. I started to get really frustrated because I wasn't able to get as much done as I wanted to in my play sessions, and I started to fall way behind my friends who had more time to play than me. I spent months looking for tips and tricks online to improve my leveling speed but most were dead ends.

That is until I stumbled across something called Zygor Guides, a completely in-game World of Warcraft stragegy guide. With Zygor's Leveling and Loremaster Guide, I was able to level my character from 1-90 in just 6 days /played time. Sound impossible? It's not, and here's how:

Zygor's Leveling Guide isn't like the printed book guides you will see in some game stores. It is completely digital, which means it is always kept up to date, and it runs INSIDE the game telling you exactly which quests to pick up and how to do them. It's all automated and detects your actions, updating itself as you complete each step.

Navigation couldn't be more easy with Zygor's on screen 3D Waypoint Arrow that literally points you where to go. The arrow has a built in Travel System that works like a Google Maps for Azeroth, caculatlating the fastest directions to get to your next location.

There's also lots of different ways Zygor helps you with the more tedius aspects of the game, allowing you to just focus on the fun parts. Take talents for example. Zygor's Guide includes a Talent Advisor that helps you figure out the best way to spend your talent points. There's also something called the Gear System that pops up anytime you receieve better gear, alerting you of the upgrade and autoequipping it for you if you'd like.

All of these features work together to power level you in lighting speed. In fact, sometimes I would level so fast that the guide would dynamically change and allow me to move to a better zone so I would get more XP. Of course, if you're a completionist the idea of skipping zones might not sound like a good idea, but never fear, Zygor Guides includes all the quests needed to get the full Loremaster achievement.

If all of this sounds too good to be true you can try out Zygor Guides for yourself today for free on their official website.

Best WoW Guide To Choose The Right Class

I’m pretty sure a lot of people have this question in mind when they want to use the Warlords of Draenor Level 90 Boost feature: “What class should I boost to level 90?“. If you took a break from WoW or you had no time to level up to level 90 already you ask yourself “What’s the best class?” or “What’s the perfect class for me?” or “What class should I play in World of Warcraft?“.

Class selection is pretty much based on personal tastes and play style, but I’ll try to make a short presentation of every class. Keep in mind that all classes are great and everything is well balanced, so as long as you know how would you like to play the game and what would you like to do in World of Warcraft you’ll be able to decide upon a specific class after reading this short guide.

Death Knight Overview

This class is a bit special. It starts at level 55 (all the others start at level 1) and to create a Death Knight you’ll need at least one character at level 55 or above on your account. This is the only hero class in game, but do not expect for it to be stronger than other classes.

Except Pandarens, every race can be a Death Knight. This is another big difference from the other classes, but this is affecting your character only visually because the race skills are not something to really make a difference to your game play.
Death Knights can perform as Tanks (Blood specialization) or Melee DPS (Frost or Unholy specializations). Whatever spec you are playing you’ll depend on runic power and the runes. This resource system might be a bit overwhelming if you are a new or inexperienced player.

Why should I play a Death Knight?
  • It starts from level 55.
  • You can get to level 60 pretty fast, pick your desired professions and the boost feature will boost those professions to max as well.
  • You can use the character as DPS but you can also tank and if you want to use Looking for Dungeon/Raid feature, as a tank you’ll spend less time in the queue.
  • A Death Knight pretty great at soloing stuff and it had some great survivability abilities.
  • Any Race (except Pandarens) can be a Death Knight.

Why shouldn't I play a Death Knight?
  • You have to have at least one more character on your account at or above level 55.
  • The resource system might be a bit unusual for a beginner.
  • You can not use the Death Knight as a Range DPS nor as a Healer. If you want to play those roles, pick another class.

Druid Overview
Druids are the perfect hybrid class. They can play any role and they can give you a totally different feeling with each specialization you are deciding to play with.

You can play as a Tank, as a Healer, Melee and Range DPS. Yes, you counted those right. Even if there are only four specs available for each class, druids are a little special. Druids can choose from four specs. Even is this is a great feature of this class, it wont make them any more powerful compared to the other classes.

Druids are the Shapeshift masters. Depending of your role or your necessities you can assume different forms. You can have a Cat form, a Bear form, a Moonkin form, a Tree of Life form, a Travel form, a Flight form, or a Aquatic form. All these forms are instant cast and are pretty to learn their uses.

Why should I play a Druid?
  • You have fours specs available and this class will allow you play any role you might like and you can make up your mind and switch roles whenever you like.
  • Druids can use Stealth. This is very helpful on soling content, completing quests or anything you’d like to do in stealth mode.
  • Instant Flight form is really great. Once you get used to that you’ll never want to use any other mounts.

Why shouldn't I play a Druid?
  • Not all races can play as a druid.
  • The ability of having four specs is also a downside. If you want to play them all you need more than one set of gear and gearing up a few times over is not really pretty.
  • Shapeshift may not be for you if you want to display your gear/items all the time since all the forms are not showing any items.

Hunter Overview
Hunters are a pure Range DPS class. They are focused on bows, guns, explosives, traps and pets. They do have three specializations as all the other classes (except Druids), but all those specs are focused on damage dealing.

Pets are the key part of being a hunter. The hunters will tame have to tame the right pet for the right job and you can tame up to 50 pet and keep them in your stables. The pets are not simple companions, they have their own abilities and specific uses.

Why Should I play a Hunter?
  • If you are into range DPS and you love bows and guns them this class is for you.
  • Pets can be extremely helpful and they can help you completing your objectives without taking a single hit from your enemies.
  • Survivability is something that Hunters are really good at. Pets, traps and abilities to get you out of trouble are the key features of hunters.
  • Even if you can’t tank, the pets can tank for you.

Why shouldn't I play a Hunter?
  • Hunters are pure range DPS, so if you want to play a different role you should choose another class.
  • Dealing with pets can be a bit overwhelming if you want to really get into the game.
  • All those pets and running them around all over the world require a bit of time beside learning your class abilities.

Mage Overview
Mages are the masters of magical range damage. All their spells are based on the mage mana pool. Basically everything they do is based on mana. All their specializations are focused on frost, arcane or fire spells.

Beside dealing damage mages can conjure food and drinks, can create portals and teleport between various World locations and they are pretty good at crown controlling with their polymorph and frost spells.
Why should I play a Mage?
  • If you like spells and you love the casters lore then this class is perfect for you.
  • Mages are great at kiting things. Basically you can kill most of the things as long as they don’t hit you too much, and here your slows and snares will help.
  • Traveling faster between main cities is always a great perk.

Why shouldn't I play a Mage?
  • If you don’t like a glass-cannon type of class. High hitter as long as he doesn’t get hit back.
  • A lot of people will ask you to conjure food/drinks and even a lot more will ask for portals. This can become pretty annoying.
  • You are pure DPS class, you can not tank nor heal in dungeons or raids or battlegrounds.

Monk Overview

Monks are the newest WoW class, introduced in Mists of Pandaria. They are a pretty interesting class to play with and it assume roles as Tanking, Healing or DPS. Healers, the mistweavers, are using mana as a resource; Tanks, the brewmasters, and DPS, the windwalkers, are using energy. All the specs are using chi as well.

Being the perfect hybrid class, since they can perform any game role, they allow you to make up your mind on the role you like best… even if changing your game role will require another set of items.

Why should I choose a monk?
  • Monks are a hybrid class. You can perform any role you like.
  • The monks level up faster due to their Enlightenment skill.
  • As a healer you can also help out with the group DPS. No many healers can really do this properly.

Why shouldn't I play a Monk?
  • Even if you can perform any role, you wont be a rage DPS. If you want to deal damage from afar, monks are not for you.
  • You’ll have to manage multiple resource types.

Paladin Overview
Yet another hybrid class. Paladins are the true guardians of the light and as you might expect, they do have some great flashy spells and abilities.

If you want to play as a Tank, Healer or Melee DPS then Paladins can be the right class for you. Each specialization has an unique game play and all specs can provide a big utility to the group. Paladins do have some great group buffs.

Some of the abilities require Holy Power. That’s a different resource beside the mana that is used by all the specs.

Why should I play a Paladin?
  • If you want to be able to switch between different game roles then you should play a Pally.
  • If you like playing with shields and heavy plate armor then try out a paladin.
  • Survivability is also one of the main features of this class.

Why shouldn't I play a Paladin?
  • If you want to play as a range DPS.
  • If you don’t like for people to ask for buffs while in groups.
  • Not many races can become a paladin, so make sure you check that first if you want a specific class.

Priest Overview

Priest are mainly viewed as healers. Well, this is how it is in most of the games not only in World of Warcraft, but I’m telling you that they can be some of the best range DPS as well.

All of their specs, healing or DPS, are using mana so resource managing is pretty simple. They are using only light cloth armor only, so you can compare them to mages, but hey, mages cant heal… There are two healing specs but they are pretty different from each other. While Holt priests are focusing on plain healing, Discipline ones are balancing healing with avoiding and mitigation damage. The third spec is the Shadow one. This is what you’ll choose if you want to deal damage.

Why should I play a Priest?

  • If you like to heal or heal range magical damage then priests are great for you.
  • They two different healing specs and, according to how game is played at the moment, one is great for PvP and the other for PvE.
  • Shadow priests can help the group with their buffs and debuffs that’s why any raid group likes to have one in their party.

Why shouldn’t I play a Priest?

  • The class is pretty squishy. You can perform your roles remarkable, but you should avoid constant hits.
  • Most of the priest will be asked to heal and switch specs. This happens with all the priest' I know. This might be bothering you.
  • You can not tank nor melee DPS.

Rogue Overview

Rogues are the stealth and masters. They have a various set of abilities available only why in stealth mode. Rogues are a pure melee DPS class and that’s all hey can do, but they are doing it very good.

All specs are using energy and combo points as a resource. Basically you’ll use the energy to get combo points and use a finishing move to use them. They are always using two weapons covered in various poisons.

Why should I play a Rogue?
  • Rogues will always be next to the bosses or next to their enemies. There will be a lot of action around them.
  • They can escape from most of the situations and hide in the shadows.
  • They can have very high bursts of damage.
  • Rogues are pretty easy to learn.

Why shouldn't I play a Rogue?
  • Being in the middle of the action can sometime make you miss some deadly poison cloud or bomb, and that can kill you instantly. You can only melee DPS. That’s it.
  • If all your escape abilities are on cooldown you can die pretty fast.
  • Even if you learn the class pretty fast, timing everything for better damage can take a while to master.

Shaman Overview

Shamans have a pretty unique play style since their existence is linked to the totems and the elements. They can perform as a Range or Melee damage dealers or as healers. All specs are affected by the totems they are using to buff their and their group abilities.

Shamans are the master of the elements and you can consider them as one of the best utility classes. They will buff the group, heal it and help killing your enemies. They do have some great burst damage and healing is pretty interesting as well. All specs are using mana so the resource system is simple to understand.

Why should I play a Shaman?
  • Shamans are always great looking and their totems and spells are pretty flashy.
  • They use mail armor so they are not so squishy as others.
  • Shamans are amazing for groups and you’ll always find a spot in raid.
  • The lore behind this class is huge. Most of the World of Warcraft books have a few shamans in them.

Why shouldn't I play a Shaman?
  • If you like to tank you should choose another class.
  • Everyone will call for buffs and you should watch your totems as well.
  • If you want an easy class to master you should find another.

Warlock Overview

Warlocks are the evil figures working for good. Or at least sort of working for good. We will never be sure.

They are similar to mages but they are masters of Shadow and Fire spells and most of their abilities are debuffs that will melt an enemy in time instead of direct damaging them. One of the spec is focused on shadow, one on fire and the other, Demonology, is focused on your demon form and your strong summoned minions.

Why should I play a Warlock?

  • The minions are great for soloing things and they work similar to hunter pets.
  • DoTs (damage over time) spells are great because you can cast them and then run around.
  • All specs are pretty balanced and you can play whatever suits you best.
  • Warlocks are have pretty good survivability.
  • You can summon a lot of unique pets to fight along side you.

Why shouldn't I play a Warlock?

  • All the three specs are very different and it will take time to master them.
  • Not very easy to play and master a warlock.
  • You can only DPS as a Warlock. If you want to play another role, pick another class.

Warrior Overview

Warriors were always seen as THE tank class. Most of the people will see you as tank, but that’s only before they will notice your amazing DPS. While playing as a warrior, even if you are going as a DPS, you can be sure someone will ask you to tank something.

You’ll Tank with a shield and a one-handed weapon and as a DPS you can either go with dual-handed weapon single or dual-wielded. Your resource is rage and is easy to handle it.

Why should I play as a Warrior?

  • Warriors are great as tanks and as melee DPS as well.
  • Like rogues, Warriors are always in the middle of the battle.
  • You can wear heavy armor plate and this will keep you alive most of the time.

Why shouldn't I play a Warrior?

  • You can not heal and you can not range DPS.
  • Since there is always so much action around you you might miss some deadly thing next to you that can kill you in an instant.
  • You are a raw class. You can not use magic.
  • Warriors require pretty good gear to shine.

Conclusion

This presentation barely scratches the surface of each class. There is no easy way to master a class and definitely this guide is not focusing on this.

Even if this guide is for beginners you might see some words specific to game that we might not explained well enough. That’s why if you do not understand something you can check the official game guide or take a look over the wowpedia website.

I stated this at the beginning of this article, but I’d like to remind you again:

Selecting your first/new class is a personal decision. Is 100% based on your taste and experience from World of Warcraft or other RPG/MMORPG games. There is no “best” class and in World of Warcraft everything is pretty well balanced. Asking someone what class should you play is like asking them what color should you like.

Try to read about classes, watch videos, check other websites like wowinsider, for example, to see what you like or you don’t like about a class.

When I fist tried the game I choose a Paladin and my decision was made because he was wearing a shield… and I knew nothing about the other classes. After a few level I made up my mind and picked the class I still play to this day.

So do not jump on boosting a class randomly (even if you can purchase as many boosts as you like/afford). If you are completely new to the game, try a few classes. Even if the first levels are nothing compared to the top level game play, you can still see a part of the class feel.

Good luck everyone and let us know if you have any tips for anyone struggling to select the best class for them.
